Google's Gemini 3.8 Flash scores better at the same price, until January
Gemini 3.8 Flash is Google's fast, low-cost everyday model. It does better than the version before it at the same price. Google says the price will double on 1 January 2027.
In short: Good value now. If you build on it, plan for the price to double in January.
Google released Gemini 3.8 Flash on 2 September. Flash is Google's fast, low-cost model for everyday tasks. It can read text, pictures, sound, video and PDFs.
It scores better than Gemini 3.7 Flash on Google's tests and costs exactly the same: $0.75 per million tokens in and $3.75 out. But both prices double on 1 January 2027.
Google also released a security version, Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, for finding and fixing weak spots in software. Google's Chrome team said it wrote 2.6 times more correct fixes for Chrome bugs than the best larger models they tried.
