Anthropic, the company behind Claude, files to sell shares to the public
On 26 October, Anthropic filed the paperwork for an initial public offering, or IPO, with the proposed ticker ANT. It has not said how many shares it will sell or at what price.
In short: A big money story, not a product change. This is news, not investment advice.
An IPO is when a private company starts selling shares to the public. The filing, called an S-1, gives the public a look at the company's finances before any shares are sold.
IPOScoop reports revenue of $19.7 billion and a net loss of $109.74 billion for the 12 months to 30 June 2026. Reports on the finances differ, so the filing itself is the best place to check any figure.
Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are leading the sale, with about 20 other banks involved. Estimates of the company's value are only estimates until a price is set.
